Roofing Shingles Installation

Make sure that you measure the width and length of your roof to make sure that you purchase enough shingles, felt, and nails to start working on the roof.
Lay the felt out in rows and nail them down so that you help to seal the house from leaking. With vertical rows of felt, they will need to overlap each other just a little bit.
Where you have nailed the felt to the house, take the caulking gun and go over the nails that have been hammered to assure that they are waterproof sealed also.
Once the caulking has dried, you can begin to start laying the shingles. When laying the shingles, make sure that you put them very tightly together so that your roof will not leak. You will need to nail approximately four nails per shingle.
Using the same method as laying bricks you always want to make sure that you start at the bottom and work your way to the top. So with that in mind start your other layer over top of the first make them staggered.
Just keep working your way up to the top until the entire roof is completely finished!
